Growing up in Canada — specific the Quebec city of Montreal — Yank Barry was proud to watch the life of his youngest brother, Phillip, unfold into one of spirit and grace. Phillip was born with a hole in his heart, an incomprehensible issue during the 1950s; big brother Yank was born in 1948. Although Phillip often looked healthy, his “spells” rendered him helpless at times. Memories for the boys included Yank bringing his young brother candies in a little red wagon or playing for just a short while outside together. Phillip also loved to hear his big brother play music as often as possible. Only six months after their father passed away, Phillip would follow after an open-heart surgery failed to repair the hole in his organ. But for Yank Barry, Phillip would always remain near and dear as well as an inspiration for his charitable ventures in the future.
